“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”

This is one of my completed projects last week a Faux Cherry Wood side table w/ mirror.

I've had this for about 10 years and it's been broken for about 4 or 5 but I couldn't throw it out and it's been hiding in a closet.

I'm pretty much going through my house and painting everything :) Can't afford new furniture and most of what I have I've had for awhile or was a hand me down or thrift store find. So I don't mind using paint on them or in some way freshen them up.

I really like how it turned out and it will be in my craft/spare room soon. I have a lot to do through out the house and organizing but I can't wait till it all comes together :)

Everything on this table was my grandmothers and I think this is how it will be displayed when moved to the craft/spare room :)

Shabby Chic'd Tall "Girl"

Hi Everyone :)

I thought I'd share what I've been working on the last two days :) About two months ago I found this Tall Boy at GW for $69 but that was a little much for something that I would felt would be a redo item.

Every week my GW has a 50% off certain colored tags soon enough yellow was the color of the week and I got this for $35 :)

I bought it for my craft room which is done in the Shabby Chic Pink & White so I had to paint her.

Here she is my neutral Tall Boy is now my Shabby Chic'd Tall Girl :) All paints I already had and the hardware is original just added the pink paint.

Shabby Chic'd China Hutch

Hi Everyone :)

It's been awhile since I posted because several months ago Blogger and Google+ and Picasa did something and when I down loaded Picasa all my pictures on Blogger disappeared and even though there wasn't a lot I just lost interest in having to redo everything. So let's just start with something new ;)

I am on a painting kick and having great luck in finding some great things at thrift stores :)
I have a lot of room in my house just not a lot of storage space :( I have my grandmother's dining room set (she passed away several years ago). The set has a table, 6 chairs, china cabinet and buffet :) It's in a dark wood but I'm not ready to paint it yet. Anyways I have run out of room in there for my dishes and ways to display my favorites :) So I've been looking for china cabinets and hutches that were open at the top and closed at the bottom for storage :)

I found one at GW for $45 but I just didn't want to spend it and couldn't really. Well Sat was 50% off everything in the store and I also have a $10 Frequent Buyer card :) So I got it for $15 ;)

I was so happy to get this and a couple other things I'll talk about later ;) I have now painted it and it is beautiful :)

Isn't she just the greatest? Displayed are some of my favorites and she's currently in my Kitchenette until I get the courage to paint my dining room furniture :) The paint I had on hand and had used in my dining room :) So for $15 I think I got an awesome deal :)

Handy Tips

Happy Holidays Everyone :)

Thought I would add some tips for things I do :)  I have little bits of several things and try and find ways to be able to use them all together to make a nice dinner table setting :)

I have lots of things but not lots of the same identical thing. This setting has 8 plates from 5 different sets because either I bought them second hand or a piece broke from a matching set. There are also 7 pieces of silverware from 4 different sets. I think they all go together just fine :)

Silver Cleaner :

1 cup Salt
1 cup Baking Powder
Aluminum Foil
Sink or Pan or Dish Tub
Mr. Clean Sponge (optional)
Hot Water

In your sink or dish tub line with alumnium foil sides and bottom. Pour in baking soda and salt and hot water half way. Place Silver item (silver plated works too) in mixture and the tarnish dissolves almost instantly. Take item out use a dish cloth or Mr. Clean Sponge (optional) and wipe off mixture and making sure if there's detailing that you get the tarnish out of detailing. Rinse and dry with soft towel.

Happy Holidays!! Toodles,,,^..^,,,Melissa

Nov DT Wicked Designs Devious Debbie Digi

Hi Everyone ;)

Here is my second DT of Nov for Wicked Designs by Brenda. I am using the Devious Debbie digi.  She is so cute. I have put her on the cover an altered Golden Book that I am making for my grand-daughter to put photo's of her inside :)

She is three dimensional which seems to be my favorite thing to do. Debbie is colored with colored pencils :)  My pictures aren't that great and I apologize because they don't seem to pick up how cute Debbie looks fussy cut and thinking up her next mischievous plan :) ( Just like my grand daughter who is only 18mn but seems to always be thinking of something to get into ;) )

Thank you Brenda for the chance to be on the team. I hope my next two projects show the hard work you put into making these digi's :)
